Atomic
A Poem by
AWickedMoon
That day,
The night grew cold,
For the bright moon,
Did not show,
For that night the
land and sky,
Were drenched in blood,
The blood of man,
The blood of steeds,
The buildings did not
crumble,
They merely left,
Unable to withstand,
The faces of those
still left,
Would fall
No bones to bury
No screams were
heard,
For death had taken
the land.

When we think back on those events, we see the mushroom cloud on that old news reel. But underneath, there were people. People just going about their day. Not caring about war or politics. "No bones to bury: indeed, erased from History...
Excellent writing. Your words are precise and sharp.

Review for Change the World Comp
Interesting work, I wonder if 'The building did not crumble, they merely vanished' would work better?, I thought this was one of the most important lines in this work. They act as a pivot to show the magnitude of our mistakes. Magnificent write, well done

Doomy. Is that a word? I highly doubt it, but it really fits ;-)
