"An Uncommon Bride."A Poem by LunaA love letter to death itself.Wrap your bone-thin fingers around my
aching, tender neck and crush what life
there is left lingering here to live out.
Give me a kiss, worth never missing,
a kiss to make my mind go numb &
drain the soul from the shell, pulp &
flesh.
Make my bed.
Make her of earth and stone, of plant and sand.
Empty her deeply, and pour me in,
pour this liquid I carry around in me
gently down.
Cover me.
Keep me safe in the arms of glimmering
rest, of undisturbed sleep & allow time to
blur the line of my existence, until I
exist no more.
Until the time when I was drunk & sparkling,
a stunning young ruffian, an heir to a shiny,
sky bound world, running with diamonds on
my eyelashes, fades.
There are common, random thoughts,
all popping with sound and colors,
smells and drapped clothing,
sticking to the place where I hide myself.
Leave the memories for another;
another thread of life, another
little soul stumbling through this place.
I have seen all that I care to look upon;
my best clothes hang in the closet, my
spit-shined Mary Jane's lie beside these
road weary feet.
I'm to a new journey now. And, I am ready.
Make me death's sweet, delicate wife.
