THE CARDS NOW ARE SHUFFLED

THE CARDS NOW ARE SHUFFLED

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

THE SAGA CONTINUES AS THE CARDS ARE NO SHUFFLED

"

Cards now they are shuffled

And the Devil cut the deck

As I deal the first card

A chill runs up my neck

.

Still I can not find Him

Now I fear my fate

Will my faith be strong enough

Or maybe it's to late

.

"Hurry and deal the cards"

A voice comes across to me.

The eyes of a poison asp

Now is the only thing I see.

.

Something then comes over me.

Then I knew that he was near

My chills seem to disappear

I felt nothing now to fear.

.

Two cards up now dealt.

The tension begins to rise

Playing for my life and soul

That is the final prize.

.
Two more cards now I deal

Face up for both to see

Ten and jack to the devil

Two aces dealt to me.

.

Devil shows a king and queen

Same suite jack and ten.

I show three aces and a king

Same hand I have again.

.

Fifth card down I get a king

The devils I do not know

My blood is flowing oh so fast

Like ice, the devils does not flow.

.

Devil he smiles at me

With those aspy eyes

"Something I shall offer you

Might not want to pass it by."

.

Said “do I have a royal flush?

An ace is all I need

I know what card I have

Will your soul be free ?"

.

"I will offer you this deal

To see if your faith is strong

If you think I have no ace

Then let us play along"

.

"But if you have a hint of doubt

As to what I have in hand

Better fold your cards right now

Or ill take everything I planned ."
