A KISS FROM MY MOMMAA Poem by DONALD EISSLERFor all of us who saw many things in the dark when we were small or still see them now hope you enjoy A KISS FROM MY MOMMA
Moon was rising late one night In the sky of darken blue. Hidden by a wispy cloud That sometime blocked its view. . Moonbeams casting eerie shadows Upon my bedroom wall. Things that were once so small Now grew to ten feet tall. . Branches on the trees outside, Barren from the winters cold. Crooked fingers coming after me Like a Grimm fairy tale of old. . The howling of the blowing wind Like hungry wolves in the night. Sending shivers up my spine I want to run away in fright. . Poltergeist keep prancing On the ceiling that I see. Wish they would go away They scare heck right out of me. . My dog starts to whimper She jumps upon my bed. We pull the blankets over us As we try to hide our heads. . Then their comes a knocking On my bedroom door. Its keeps on getting louder We’re scared now even more. . Then I hear a voice Soft, but yet so very strong Asking “Honey are you ok” Knew nothing now was wrong.
It was just my momma Checking up on me. Gave me a loving kiss That made those demons flee. . That was many years ago But I still remember well. How just kiss from my momma Chased those demons back to hell. TK © 2012 DONALD EISSLER |
