REMEMBERINGA Poem by DONALD EISSLERTHINKING BACK
I’m leaving on the plane That once brought me to you. Looking out the window I sure am feeling blue.
Remembering our shared laughter, How easily it had flowed. Hearts beating heated passion The sparkling in our eyes it showed.
Remembering your pretty smile, First kiss so warm upon my lips. Feeling your body so close to mine As your loves nectar I did sip.
Remembering us holding hands As we walked with so much pride. Told you about my child hood past And how it almost made you cry.
Remembering that afternoon When something seemed to change. The sparkle now was missing. I was feeling rather strange.
Remembering there’s more to love Than just showing how much you care. Other things get factored in Makes love sometimes seem unfair.
Remembering my last ado’s How done with a heavy heart. And those tears that really fell As I was about to part.
Remembering you I always will. You’ll always be a love mine. Hurt we both feel right now Hope will go away in time.
Remembering the love we shared As the plane lifts off the ground. For you I'll have fine memories And the love I thought I found.
