YOUR HEART IS A CASTLEA Poem by DONALD EISSLEROnes heart is guarded by a castleI have feasted at your table Tasted your sweet wine Made love to you at midnight Our bodies well entwined
. Surrounded by a wall It’s guarded by your archers They are at your beckon call . Have tips of poison words You never see them shoot them But every word is heard . Sometimes they’ll miss their mark If you forget to put it on The poison always hits the heart . As you sit upon your throne Saying “ I can rule my kingdom Much better all alone” . One of the few that you let in What you really say right now It's not the truth… and it has never been . For your not the only one Who has lost at love before Get your a*s off your throne And open up your door . Let that new love in your life For I know who he is And he wants you for his wife
