A MEMORY OF A HARVEST MOONA Poem by DONALD EISSLERA MOON WRITEYes it's been ten years ago When a harvest moon was bright Leaves where floating to the ground As we fell in love that night
Conversation while holding hands Laughing till we ached Looking at the stars and cuddling Those emotions where not faked
Then when I gazed at you Into those eyes of emerald green They just sparkle in the moonlite Most lovely sight I'd ever seen
When I tried to steal a kiss You gently pushed me away Then you just smile that smile Said “lets wait for another day”
My passion was running wild But my respect for you took hold I know that if you cared for me I should not try and be so bold
Now let me go take a look Yes, there's harvest moon tonight We can walk in the autumn leaves I'll even steal a kiss, if that’s all right
We can laugh and we can giggle But this time will be different We both will let our passion flow
We can bring a blanket Lay it upon the ground Make love under that moonbeam If there no one else around.
So lets go take that walk And relive that yesterday I’ll pick you up at seven Then we'll be on our way. © 2011 DONALD EISSLER |
