LUNCH AT THE BISTRO

LUNCH AT THE BISTRO

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

TRYING TO MAKE LOVE HAPEN AGAIN

"

Think having lunch with you

  Would be a welcome treat.
 How about that little Bistro,
It's just right down the street.

We can share a table,
Sit out in the open air.
 Watch the people walking by,
Would you like to meet me there?

We can share some wine
 A glass or maybe two
 And let our feelings flow
Just like we used to do.

Talk about our difference's
And the good things of the past.
 Maybe finally realize
That our love's supposed to last.

Both will probably shed
A few tears now and then
As we look at each other
Thinking how it might have been.

I will touch your hand
 While hoping you reply
Saying "I love you oh so much
Let's give it one more try."

So if this is something
Maybe you would like to do
I'll call that little Bistro
To save a table for me and you.

enjoyable piece. nice rhythm, felt the mood and understood the tentative yearning involved in the hope of renewing a love affair.

Unique. It has a solid core that makes this reader really spend time relishing in its details and beauty. It has profound imagery that makes it ever so powerful to live in my mind.
