TEARS FROM MY EYES OF CHINA BLUE

TEARS FROM MY EYES OF CHINA BLUE

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

Watching the tide come and take away what you negleted to realize you had till it is gone..

"

Tears now fall again
From eyes of China blue.
Memories thought sequestered
Now come flowing through.

Like the words ''I Love You”
Once written in the sand .
Washed away by the ocean
Why? Now I understand.

My mind and heart
Never cared a thought.
Of just how much hurt you
With the selfishness I sought.

Never paid much attention
To your wants or needs.
I really did not realize
When you tried to plant that seed.

I can remember walking
You tried to hold my hand.
Pushing you away from me
Like another one night stand.

Now as I stand here,
Wave crashing on the shore
My heart is crying out,
I shall see you never more.

I pick a up a stone
Found aptly by my side.
I rush to the rocks ahead
To beat the coming tide.

There the words “I Love You”
I etch deeply with my stone
Now nothing can erase those words
As I still stand here all alone.

I watch now the tide
Come slowly to the shore
If I had one more chance
How I would surly love you more.

Wonderful.

Sadly wistful....how often do we fail to realize the treasure we hold in our arms? Day in and day out, we brush them from our shoulders, only to discover our misery and surprise at the empty blackness they leave behind. Well captured, my friend...
