SHE WAS A SINGER IN A COUNTRY WESTERN BAND

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

Maybe someone I once knew Too bad these words did not hold true Hope you enjoy SHE WAS A SINGER

"

She was a local singer
In a country western band.
Played a lot of places,
Mostly one night stand's.

She had a voice so gifted
Like angles from above.
Had every thing she needed
Except someone she could love.

She would sing her heart out
Almost every night.
But what she really wanted
Was a handsome shiny Knight.

Many Knights had come along
On great steeds of white.
Wanting her to ride away
Always something wasn’t right.

She always seemed afraid
To open up her heart.
Many knights had tried
But quickly they did part.

Then one day she met
A slighty tarnished one.
He asked her out to dinner
Maybe he would be the one.

He was from California.
Flew in on a silver steed.
He was a very handsome Knight
Oh yes he was indeed!!

He was rather different
Not like all the rest.
She felt a stirring in her
To this she did attest.

Asked if he could see her
Before he went away.
She was happy that he asked
Really wanting him to stay.

He told her he’d be coming back
And promised her he could
She had heard all this before
And wondered if he would.

Now this was a few years ago
It was nineteen-eighty-five
Seemed they beat all the odds
‘Cause their Love is still alive.

She now no longer sings
In a country western band.
Her songs are for a Tarnished Knight
Who has given her his hand.

She still has the voice of an Angel
They smile when she sings.
As does her tarnished, handsome Kight
When that Love to her he brings.

Yep Tarnished Knight I think i would like one. Super, and very good. A great flow and the knight tales go though all your work very well. Great write.

Talent is a precious thing. I don't think one can ever lose it but maybe under certain circumstances it feels as though it has been lost. Great poem. Understanding the very essence of pain and someone's suffering is not always easy but some people just don't understand life in general. This was a good read though and I apologize for rambling on. ^^*

Sometimes, it takes someone tarnished to understand our pain. This is a true to life "love story," because it tells a tale of people sharing their pain along with their gifts. I really like this a lot and hope that you write more about these types of realistic human beings. When we think that we have endured more than anyone can, it is time to meet stranger and ask where he has been. Great write!
