WHO IS THIS WOMAN

WHO IS THIS WOMAN

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

REWRITE OF AN OLDER ONE

"

Who is this woman
That comes to me each night?
Who is this woman ?
She is such a lovely sight.

When I close my eyes
She suddenly appears.
When I try to reach for her
Just as fast she disappears.

She always seems to tease me
With everything she does
Is she just an apparition
That sets my mind abuzz

She always slips away from me
Leaving with a twinkle in her eye.
She never says a word
I begin to wonder why.

So now I lay awake
Seems the rest of the night
Trying again to fall asleep
Just to catch another sight.

That seldom ever happens
No matter how hard to try.
Sometimes if I listen close
I think I hear her sigh.

Then suddenly I awake.
My heart is beating strong.
Feel someone next to me
I know I can't be wrong.

My eyes again wide open
What is it that I see?
Is that my mystic lady
Lying along side of me?

I can feel her warmth
Her body close to mine.
It's not an apparition
She's been here all the time.

Yes, she is my rose
Her petals all abloom
Even when shes sleeping
Her aura fills the room.

Think that I shall wake her
Then squeeze and hold her tight.
Tell her how much I care for her
And make love to her this night.

Though dreams can be lovely
And can take you away.
But me laying next to her

Is where I want to stay.

A sweet story. Of a dream or a lost lover? The romantic atmosphere and your words to capture hearts never fail to amaze me.
