THE DRAGON AND THE MAIDEN
Alas my fair maiden You hide behind your veil. Please listen closely To this Jousters tale.
For this Knight he jousts Sans armor he no more. As a fool he was So many times before.
Twice upon his steed He mounted for the joust. Never had his armor on So was sure to lose the bout.
Twice knocked off his steed, His pride though really hurt. Still he held his shoulders back Though face be still with dirt.
The King he waves the flag. The final joust be near. Yea Knight now dons his armor But not for the hand of Gwenivier.
For yea Knight a costly lesson Learned from years of tears and pain. To capture hand yarn maiden A dragon must be slain.
There is a fire breathing dragon That lies deep within your soul. Knight never getting close enough To do battle with its evil hold.
Now this Knight he jousts For maidens hand no more. For the love of thy maiden, Now no longer holds its lore.
Other hands do beckon now. My lesson so well learned. If I try again to slay your dragon I know I will surely burn. © 2011 DONALD EISSLERAuthor's Note
