EMPTINESSA Poem by DONALD EISSLERTITLE TELLS THE STORY
EMPTINESS
An emptiness engulfs me. I’m feeling so all alone. Suns rays no longer warm me. I’m chilled right to the bone.
I’m searching for your body. What once I knew was near. Seems as I reach out for you . Your breathing I can hear.
But its only your pillow That comforts me now. Trying hard to forget you But really don’t know how.
Your scent I can't diminish It permeates my very soul. Your not a dying ember But a burning piece of coal.
I have tried so very hard To get you off my mind. But this damn memory Is not so very kind.
The lord gave us a memory So we would not forget. Wish sometimes it would fade Then change to a living vignette
