HUMPTY DUMPTY

HUMPTY DUMPTY

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

Yes he had a great fall

"

I feel like Humpty Dumpty
Falling off the wall.
Found a few broken pieces,
But can not find them all.

Tried to protect myself,
A job not well done.
Was shot down by words,
Not by any gun.

I believe it's me,
That caused my demise.
Should have paid more attention
When I looked deep into her eyes.

There lies the portal
To every living soul.
They can not keep a secret,
It's where you pay the final toll.

It was just dream I had
Of lovers being true.
It was real for me
But wasn't real for you.

Now I'll take my sorrow
And never look behind.
For it's those other pieces
That I know I'll never find.
