THE PRIDE OF A LIONA Story by DONALD EISSLERWe all have lost our pride sometimes during out life...just a short using a lion as my pride
In far off Africa is a maiden lioness that the humble Lion longs for…ah!! but alas she belongs to another. He who guards his pride with much diligence and always with a watchful eye, stymies yea lioness from wandering too far. Always under the guise of protection, his growl, though at times comforting, can also cause her to wonder what if that other Lion had not been so slow in answering to her beck and call. For she still has that yearning, that tingling sensation when she ponders back to days gone by. Days when words of romance filled the air. Seemed no matter where she was, a waft of wind would bring her solace as his words of love would fill her heart.
Now she lays upon the grassland of what was, she thought, and unending savannah of green. Now, it has taken on a more subtle look with spots of brown dying flora, spreading slowly through the meadows of her mind In the distance she hears a faint growl. Could that be he? Her Lion of days gone past coming to take her on a journey? But the sound is fading like a distant mournful dirge of a lion searching for his Pride. She knowing his search will go on forever until he finds her again. Then and only then shall said Lion regain his Pride. TK © 2011 DONALD EISSLERAuthor's Note
