OUR KISS AND LAST EMBRACE

OUR KISS AND LAST EMBRACE

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

Thinking about that last kiss and embrace two lover shared

"

Well it's 5 am in the morning.

It's just my keyboard ,dog and me.

The rooster is still sleeping.

Good!! please  just let him be..
.

The owls have retired.

As the moon starts to fade.

No more coyotes yelping.

As night and daylight trade.

Then I opened up this magic box .

A smile comes across my face.

A message from a pretty lady .

Appears in my visual space.

A “how are you this morning?”

Starts her words of love.

Said that she misses me .

I'm what she dreaming of..

Wish we were together .

For more than just a day.

Just want to ask you this.

“You coming back my way?”

Two weeks was a long time.

But yet not so long at all.

Says she really cares for me.

I have taken down her wall.

Can it be that I have found .

The one I’m looking for?

Must admit she made this Knight,

Grave for even more .

I hear that damn ole rooster .

Yes he's finally come alive.

Even my dogs ears pop up.

As other life it starts to thrive.

Now the Sun breaks the sky,

Off in the horizon East.

It's like a rising Phoenix.

The night time it has ceased.

My coffee cup is empty now.

But I have a smile upon my face.

For it's you that I’m thinking of

And our kiss and last embrace .

Got to love that early morning period that only exists for the light sleepers.

Nice piece! I felt it word after word. It felt so real. The diction also brings out the emotions and that is remarkable.Nice piece! I felt it word after word. It felt so real. The diction also brings out the emotions and that is remarkable.

This Is cute, I also have a rooster - FINCH. but hes at my Nan's.. its a rather heroic story how I came to have him. But anyways. This is a very delightful poem. Waking up before 5, just to have a conversation her way? am I right. Its sweet. Coffee is much better then tea as always... Its a nice poem. I can picture the setting and the early morning 'as night and daylight trade' places. Hehee see what I did there. Loved It As Usual.
