Candyland

Candyland

A Poem by ARpoetry

We went to a lot of places
We saw a lot of things
We imagined all kinds of stuff
We could go anywhere we wanted

On a warm summer day,
Out on the lawn
We jumped through the sprinkler
We pretended the sidewalk was lava
We even went to Candyland right in our front yard
Man, that was fun

Those lemonade stands were fun
All dressed up and no where to go
Our big floppy hats and oversized shoes
Getting paid to sell refreshingly, cold lemonade from a mix
Refills were offered, of course
If you paid us

Don't forget the braiding booth
We braided anything you wanted,
If you paid us

We even had a fake tattoo shop,
How fun it was to make others smile,
When they saw the art we put on them
If you paid us

We were friends, the best of friends
We were each other's favorite person
Everyday we laughed, argued, played

We were born hustlers
We haggled our way through every lemonade sale,
Sometimes giving free refills
Occasionally, giving two stickers for the price of one
We were sweet like that

We were partners in crime,
Whether you wanted to be my partner or not
I was bossy like that
We were so alike,
Yet so different

We will forever be together
In my heart
I'll see you again,
One day,
My darling sister

Beautiful. Second one of yours I have read today about memories of your dearly departed sister. You will always have those memories, how precious they are. Thank you for sharing with us.
