What About Passion...

What About Passion...

A Poem by Aramey

What about passion,
what is life
without life breathing back into you?
How can you stand there,
your only desire to be stone,
unmoving, unwavering,
yet stand for, and do nothing.
How could you let it all slip away,
only after to feel, to rue the day,
just as you knew you would someday.
but what if someday never came?
What if you didn't let it slip,
like sand through your fingertips?
what if you held onto it,
honoring the word commit.
Wouldn't it be worth setting passion free?
There is passion in everything,
as deep as the sea,
how could you choose to let it go,
how could you let it be?
Living half alive,
comes with ample price,
but you know this all too well,
and still,
stand under apathy's dangerous spell.
Why is nothing worthy,
until it's gone,
waiting until what you can't have,
is all you want.
You ignore every sign and signal,
ignore every plead from your heart,
until you find yourself crying again,
falling to pieces, and coming apart.
She begged you to move,
and still you stood still,
mind in self inflicted abandon,
never reclaiming the thrill.
And she moved on without hope,
that she'd ever feel fulfilled,
how could you ask her to feel good enough,
while every dream, both hers and yours, you killed.

It is sad when those we welcome in into our lives say something and unfortunately do another. It is at this point, when you see the decision being made long before the train hits the split that tears at our hearts the most yet at the same time letting go is not exactly an option either. All of this when a simple conversation about is going on, adult to adult, heart to heart would mend most if not all the wounds and worries between you both.

There is pain and frustration in every line, as you foretell of a fate that is clear yet admitting to it might be one of the most difficult things imaginable as you go from day to day, week to week wondering when the train will skip the tacks. This is not a joyous feeling or even that of freedom but rather watching a wreck happening yet unable to avoid it like a slow-mo scene form a movie; things tossed about in chaotic fashion leaving you to wonder how to pick up the pieces.

I can only hope this doesn't poison your heart as I've seen your brighter side and the world is a much better place with it shining for whatever reason that makes it beat another beat. I hope you don't feel alone or out of touch and that understanding is found in others that see you for the wonderful, jubilant, kind, sympathetic, intelligent and if I dare say beautiful soul I have come to know this past year or so. If you take anything away from my simple words here, my praise of your being it is that you deserve to feel better than this and when and IF things come crashing down that you don't hide away in your sorrows alone - there are many that would gladly sit with you and just listen, just breathe and just be there for your needs.

As always and in all ways take care dear - I know you do and I say this sometimes like a skipping record, but in my repetition is my care and concern for you. You may not smile every day or in every way but know that at least one person is making some attempts to see you smiling more often than not.

Hopefully I'm doing my small part in that.

Hey Aramey...your poem is emotionally charged...the depths of each line is heart wrenching...and as much as I love to console you...I always believe in a person working through their problems with great support...I support you, Aramey...through your dark times and I'll support when the light is shining...Passion that you feel and not expressed by the other is just lost connection...it's just that fork in the road...I feel you because I relate...it takes a lot of hard work, to get your life back in order...and it's a constant fight, to fight those who are willing to take away that hard work...but I know you will see it through. Nicely expressed.
