Soul's Elysium

Soul's Elysium

A Poem by Aramey

My troubles fall away,
fingertips run across red silk sheets
flowing over the bunches
bunches that left impressions of passion,
and air,
air that my starved lungs couldn't breathe
ecstasy that toppled every other thought,
away.
My cold body,
now full of life, and warmth,
daylight... creeping through the windows,
a mind's rejuvenation
lost,
in a moment that mirrors Elysium
and finds such comforts there,
the scent of sandalwood
ever-present,
soothing
as my eyes drift away
lashes that surrender to the song of slumber
lips relax against one another and softly part
deeper than a connection of body, heart, and mind,
this,
the divine connection
of the soul.
