Where Do Falling Stars Land

Where Do Falling Stars Land

A Poem by Aramey

A question passes,
every now and again,
ripping it's way through my dreaming,
tearing the clarity of mind.
Sometimes there's an emptiness,
an absence of touch,
where reaching fingertips are numb,
with a force equivalent to simple dust.
Will this always be... enough?
When something as simple,
as an expression of love
becomes a complication,
is it even real, or ever was?
Reality blurs with spoken words,
and I wonder what is truth, and what is not.
A pause, as I collect myself,
for it is a blow- across my heart,
dragging open crimson scars,
revealing a vulnerable flesh.
As my senses awaken,
an awareness of thrashing,
tossing and turning,
sweat beads gathering,
I take a few deep breaths,
and try to fight the knowing.
As each dream fell away,
hope shamelessly abandoned,
leaving me breathless in it's wake,
and wondering, what happened.

To the girl who dreamed
whether asleep or awake,
to the girl who once hoped,
wished on stars, and prayed...
Now she's the girl,
broken, and deeply jaded,
her demons who win battles
over her heart, everyday.
As she realizes it's these dreams
she may never taste,
and like the others, another dream,
fades... and falls away.

Lovely sentiments, Aramey. One can always dream again and again, despite felling jaded. :)

A prose, filled with sad lament,
a yearning here, does seek a vent.
A loving heart will not relent,
or ever turn malevolent.

With open arms the message sent,
endless love with no resent.
Return echoes we can't prevent,
all too often reticent.
