The Hourglass

The Hourglass

A Poem by Aramey

Satin sheets bunched in spaces,
scattered across the mattress,
as blips of memories replay,
and shift the pale emptiness in my mind.

Breath, a softness, passes my freckles
connecting the dots to all life's troubles
and bringing them to this moment,
then each slowly drifts away.

My locket broke as you entered my door,
there's no need for a key to my heart anymore.
What was once a barren land,
is now a map to heaven's gates
far beyond the reaches of space and time
somewhere where each heart beat
delicately intertwines.

As my thoughts loop back,
again and again...
the moments in swift passing, renew,
as if turning an hourglass of glowing sand.
