The Headless Horseman

The Headless Horseman

A Poem by Aramey

Hooves that pound,
his vengeance thunders.
The flames on his steed,
draw fear, awe, and wonder.
As he gallops through town,
panic takes over,
the people all run,
for nearby cover.
Chaos ensues and flames whistle,
his haunting tune,
like a torrent
through the thistle.
As the people scatter and scream,
all is echoing.
He'll have justice on this town,
by this he swore,
he'll have vengeance as he promised,
this headless ghost, and his mount.
