What is a sister

Happy Birthday Jewelz!!

What is a sister?
A lovely person, and friend.
When you break,
she runs to mend.

When you're lost,
she'll write you a map
guiding you home,
and like the north star,
she never fails
no matter how many twists
turns,
or wrong way roads you take,
she'll always be there,
standing, before all adversary,
for your sake,
even if that person,
is you.

When all lights go out,
she'll still be there,
a shoulder to cry on,
an ear to listen,
arms for a hug,
warm, unrelenting, and true,
(She'll stick up for you too.)

That is how you know she's a sister,
not born of the same blood,
from the same mother or father,
but that you're there for each other,
a bond which distance nor time could touch,
the human condition,
towards a stubborn disposition,
isn't a factor in this gift,
of having a friend, a crucial part of family,
one who can never be replaced,
in life after.

While we walk this Earth in shattered pieces,
in darkness,
and when we glide through life,
while the sun brightly shines,
she'll be there through both,
sharing memories and laughter,
held in pictures,
painted on the hearts walls,
and in it's stitches.

I thank God to have such a sister,
her birthday is today
and as you can see,
there are so many ways to celebrate.

If you have any doubts,
that this woman is more than worth while,
than you don't deserve to know her,
through both time and trial,
you can walk on your own,
in blind spite and denial,
but not I,
her value is written
within the honesty of her eyes,
clearly seen,
by the -not blind-
for thousands of miles.

For those who know how deserving she is,
a standing ovation, on her birthday,
by those who mean it, and those who are true,
lets all let her know, how wonderful she is,
what are you waiting for... go... do!
