Walls of BlueA Poem by Aramey
I'm painting my walls blue,
not for the color of the sky, because this place is a prison, not somewhere to fly... but for the way that I feel, because I know I'll have to say goodbye. I turned my back on the sun, covering the walls in black tape, because a world without rainbows, is a world without love. I don't shed tears anymore, the point is muddled away, they don't tell truth from lore. I place a chair in the center, but I can't sit down, instead I pace and admire, the only world that I've known. I'm comforted by the fog again, as it all, sets... right... back... in. I clean the puddles on the floor, mopping away tears of a wretched past, I have far too much to do... as I take another brush to the walls, did I tell you why I chose the color blue? If I have to live inside these walls again, I could keep with me these memories, however few, I could keep with me the color of your eyes, and the memories of you. © 2013 ArameyFeatured Review
