A Tragedy Worth the Mend

A Tragedy Worth the Mend

A Poem by Aramey
"

I tried something a little different with this one.

"
Like the binding of a book,
you thread and hold my pieces together,
     page by page
          word by word
you surprise me when you catch them,
and hold them for a moment,
in your capable hands.
My soul is dog eared,
yet you're captivated by the scent
      of my aged pages,
           and bent corners,
shaped like rough puzzle pieces,
damaged from the mixed souls of others.
Yet still you hold,
like I'm a treasure,
as if it would be a shame
      for me to fall apart,
for me to be lost again,
as if I were timeless and a tragedy... worth the mend.

Wow, I Loved how artful you got with the book as a metaphor...yet the meaning is so deep...I'm always in awe of your talent, Aramey...I'm a huge fan. :)
