The American Dream

The American Dream

A Poem by Aramey

What is free... when what isn't regulated by the government,
is forced under finger of society,
what is brave, when everything is wrong,
but we let active issues stay...
Where it's easier to live for free,
than to work and achieve our dreams.
We don't battle in swords anymore,
or have to fight the plague,
but homelessness is everywhere,
taking center stage.
How do we find ourselves in this place,
when it's what we came here to escape?
Only our minds are ours these days,
what happens when that is taken away?

Great message from a strong free spirited voice as yours...it's things I ponder on myself...a digital prison...it reminds me of my kin folks being pushed out in Hawaii...every beach spot bought by the rich because property taxes raises every year...why in hawaii, for what reason for the gentrification to take the natives lands...homeless, yes...it a sad issue when they tell us work hard to achieve, yet it gets easily taken away. Awesome message, Aramey.

My coffee and read of the morning.

Nice poem, Homelessness is not not-having a place to live .. but having no real home, where there're people who value you for who you actually are
