Phoenix SongA Poem by Aramey
From a bed of ashes... she waits,
carefully collecting the scattered particles of who she is, and who she will be taking care in leaving the past behind. She will rise again... this much is known, as the dust gathers and swirls in spirals revealing the shape of a body, a silhouette on fire, the only burning she feels, determined desire. There are those who try to snuff her out, trying to keep her shaken, and on the ground, each one shamelessly denies with blind, clouded eyes as she calls to everyone, shaming all other sounds in the skies. With a voice that carries past the horizon, a passion close behind, pushing her song through space and time, and again she cries... with wings that unfurl, and prepare to fly. The light in her voice echoes, a beacon for all of her kind, calling them from all corners of the world, the signal... it's time for us to fly. © 2013 ArameyReviews
