Make- Believe

Make- Believe

A Poem by Aramey

Make believe...
tastes of dangerous reprieve,
when you hit the wall of reality
face first, crimson, battered belief.

With eyes that scream betrayal,
intentions never mattered much
haunting faces of pain and rage
souls that believe so much time, a waste.

As I reach the threshold of a dream,
I wonder if my fate is the same
dreaming, a familiar friend of mine
until I awaken to discover a lie.

Still, I drift forward, in wait,
while my heart jumps, in wonder,
of my questions for fate,
things long stagnant are now awake.

A shift in the beat of my heart,
fast, slow, stops... and flows,
and as the pendulum swings,
the tic toc of time, reveals everything.
