Sea Shells

Sea Shells

A Poem by Aramey

In the deepest tresses of the Ocean's waters,
her secrets, guided by the souls lost in her wandering,
inspiring madness, for those who dare sail her fury
only the moon shows no fear, as he lays his light across her.

She gives life by her essence, takes life by her absence,
as none can survive without what she possesses,
a sacrifice of herself, a gift, hidden,
where to tread is to fear, and the lost, is but found.

She flows and returns again, back to a heart
that mankind cannot see, no holy grail of innocence,
but a connected web of emotion, liquid, into fear,
tides moved by the moon's gravity, she leaves evidence in sand.

Unexpected foes, steal seashells from beyond her hand,
when she returns as dawn is near, collecting what she can...
brushing them back into safety, the only, she's ever had,
but she still follows the moon, eager, to trust a friend.
