Misunderstood

Misunderstood

A Poem by Aramey
"

This is a bit of a fast paced rant

"
Misunderstood,

Everyone's assumptions...
they say what they should,
those who don't understand
words harm the decent and good.

If you know about me
from another...
don't bother to know me
it is you that will suffer.

You'll pass by some wonderful souls
all because you listened
to another's blow hole,
those who are falsely crowned and christened.

Who is one to judge another's goal?
Well I guess that means
you missed that memo
"lest you be judged by the same measure," and it seems...
no one seems to know
they will reap what they sew.

There are those who know me,
and those who pretend
those who would control me
and call themselves "friend."

I could never ask for better people
than individuals still standing like stone,
the others bark like defensive beagles
here, let me throw you a bone...

I'm sometimes a mess, it's true
but it's no different, because so are you
you may not show it so easily and one day you'll see
when you look in the mirror, you're not so different from me.

What a wonderful, positive tribute to good people who are often maligned! Very well done. I agree.
