Light in a Faceless SocietyA Poem by Aramey
I touched the moon yesterday
my fingers lit up, contact wrapped in his celestial warmth
like the bright morning sun breaking... bursting over the threshhold of the horizon I felt my lips kiss the endless stars .... goodnight as I opened my eyes everything was gone still, I pressed on all the blank faces staring at me as I moved searching... they all looked the same each shallow set of eyes reflecting such narrow minds eyes flicking from one to another his face imprinted in my mind but it was he I couldn't find... I brought my body closer to the earth laying on her loving surface what have they done? her grasses are choking by their plastic toys and styrofoam tolls the faces, they surround me just the next thing to destroy taking pictures of my drowning eyes as I long for shelter somewhere to call my own I want to feel... safe but there's no where to run no where... to go the flashing lights continue to blink but their eyes are on the brink they see my soul as the church bell tolls though not one can guide me home hands at their side each covered in crimson mold they stare and they scold throwing jagged edged stones where is my moonlight? and the energy he beholds... longing, yearning, waiting and then... he hears my call resuming the shape of the moon, sun ... and stars his light shining shrouding my exposed soul from their piercing eyes as I curl into his light memories of the faceless are slowly kissed away. It is here that I surrender trusting him with my heart as my demons fall away. © 2013 Aramey |
