Maharashtra Is Under-Utilizing Its Capacity To Conduct More COVID 19 Tests: Fadnavis

 

• Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis alleged that the state govt is under-utilizing its capacity to conduct more COVID-19 tests. 
• He also demanded the correct data of the total number of people who died outside the hospital, from the govt.
• Fadnavis wrote a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray and denoted that on an average only 4,000 tests are being done in Mumbai in a contrast to Health Minister Rajesh Tope’s claim of daily 25,000 tests. 
• He wrote, “In Mumbai, 2,01,507 tests were done till June 1. The number was 3,33,752 on June 30. That means 1,32,245 tests were done in June." 
• He further added, “Out of 1,32,245 tests 36,559 people were found positive. That means the rate of infection is 28 %. The national rate of infection is 6.39 %.”
