Crossroads

Two roads converged

one away from a wood

the other toward

no intention of either

though no path

worn before

was predetermined

Others had led that way

and this way

none anywhere

with hopeful feathers

or returning springs

only barren branches

and forlorn journeying

Treading marked 

similar spaces

similar outcomes

all accumulating 

into the fruit

of the knowledge

and weight of the

choices made

Two roads converged

one away from a wood

the other toward

good intentions for all

with the one

best suited joining

the chosen trail

Traversed 

in spite of

despite of 

respite

come what may

promise heralding

a new way

This reminds me of those who blaze trails, invent...going down roads that have never even been seen before...they allow themselves to take such a chance, because they are best suited
not to play life safe.
