it's okay to blossom

just don't forget

to evolve the thorns

I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring this out. I'm going to assume it's about people. Although it's not clear. How are flowers crushed and how do sunflowers relate to thorns?

If you're relating flowers to people, then the smaller, "cowering" ones (pansies, etc) are easily and often crushed. Sunflowers stand taller but can also be plucked. Thorns aren't natural to them, hence the idea of evolving thorns. Ultimately, anything can be toppled. Usually, the more beautiful/proud/tall, the more the deliberate effort to do so. With thorns, at least that sort of effort won't come without a painful cost. Artistic liberties and poetry. What I love about exploring and writing. Thank you for the thoughtful read and questions
