What's in the Box

What's in the Box

A Poem by AMMD

What’s in the box
                        a devilish jack

an innocuous gnome

                         a phallic troll

or house of melody?

Does it hold

       discomforting plumage

ethereal clay

    unknown pandemonium

or disfractal harmony?

Was it born of

                          mining labor

stolen fruit

                      collected effort

or preordained arrival?

Will it bare

            a Tiffany’s breakfast

A wholesome meal

   invoke delightful squeals

or elicit cries of terror?

Will it usher

        the fall of a house

a laughing casket

             a constructed prison

or a conquerable spirit?

Return to sender

                       a house will rise

  no inflicted suicides tonight

                      keep your prison

and your pinhead box
