Mirror Of Imperfections

Mirror Of Imperfections

A Poem by Ambra Celeste

Mirror Of Imperfections

She dreams of flawless skin
Accompanied by perfect blinding white teeth
She wishes for impeccable perky breasts
Sensually embraced by long soft hair
She prays for a sublime skinny frame
Just like those on glossy magazines
As she surveys what the mirror reflects
She is incapable to see her true self
The lying mirror only shows people’s despicable jokes
Sinking down into her core
She is now deeply insecure
She cannot look at herself anymore
If only she could open her eyes
And removed the blindfold of lies
Those lies that only aim
To keep her under control and make her feel unsafe
If only she would free her imprisoned soul
From those who want to have control
She would then perceive her true charm, elegance and zing
With dignity, she would set herself free.

i just loved these lines...
almost every teen girl goes through this and unfortunately many are unable to remove the blindfold even as they enter adulthood..if only they could see..
