Black Orchid

Black Orchid

A Poem by Ambra Celeste

Black Orchid

I am natural beauty, I am to die for
I conform to the requirements of rich and poor
I am versatile and never discriminate
I heal the hurt of those in pain
I chant spells to spice up sexual games
I blind the truth of relationships in decay
Even domestic violence won’t seem that bad
Hence, young and old cherish me
I can make the shy do crazy things
My magic power satisfies their needs
Of their weaknesses I feed
I live in the lost essence of those in search of shallow happiness
Fools believe that my vines are not enticing
So I wait, I know better
Heartache, dissatisfaction and distress
They will soon reach out for my helping hand
My desiccating potion they will drink
As of now their lives belong to me
Their brains show no sanity
Their souls intoxicated with vanity
A dazzling reflection in the mirror they see
Whereas their appearance reveals their ill
I deal my cards face up
Who will gamble?
