Soul Collector

A Poem by Ambra Celeste

Soul Collector

A trail of mistakes imprinted in your past
The contemplation of what you have done
Your wish…to turn the clock back
The chance to talk to your old self
Self-centred on what you should have said and done
Growing into the future but living in the past
I am the energy that forbids you to move on
I am the emotion that kills self-worth
Guilt is my name
The daily reminder of your past mistakes
As fresh wrinkles mark your skin
The desire for a new beginning you feel
From one relationship to the next
A never-ending emptiness
In your subconscious you don’t trust you have the right
Your gifted soul is mine
Lost in regrets
Struggling to find the way back
You solely possess the key to your release
Opening the door to self-forgiveness.
