Broken Heart

Broken Heart

A Poem by Ambra Celeste

Broken Heart

Alive with pulsating love
Beating for the person it deeply cares for
Giving, gracious and noble
Brimming with childlike excitement, it awaits love inflow
The love a lover
The love of a friend
The love of a family who refuse to understand
Eager to be wrapped in cherishing warmth
Yearning to snuggle in tender arms, just like a new-born
As lonely days go by
Rejection inflicts pain like knife stabbing
Crying to shout out the hurt it feels
‘Stop your cruel indifference’
Voiceless, tongue-tied
It cannot be heard
It breaks into pieces
A jigsaw puzzle of an ocean of tears
Torn apart by the one it loved
Stomped on by the one it lived for
Time won’t change the self-centred
Time won’t cure the violent
But time can heal a broken heart
With self-care and self-love
Never going back to whom caused it all.
