Procrastination - Friend or Foe?A Poem by Allison Atwater
Procrastination? Are you friend or foe? You come to me at the most inconvenient times, When the laundry is piling up, when the dishes are stacked in the sink, when the vaccum cleaner needs to come out. You come to me in the form of creativity. A thought or writing idea, that requires immediate attention. When procrastination comes for a homemaker it is a friend to the writer. When procrastination comes for the writer it is a friend for the homemaker. Do you come to me in the form of my children requiring my attention? Do you come to me when the telephone rings, Do I answer or let the machine pick up? Procrastination you are my friend. You are always with me -- Sometimes I listen to your voice pressing me to leave what I am doing. Sometimes I refuse Procrastination is a choice something that I choose.
