And
you've told me plenty.
It stands for loss-
But it was you who left me.
It starts the word like,
And that’s all you feel.
"L" stands for Love,
Something not very real.
"O" stands for outstanding,
and that’s all we once were.
It looks like a circle,
A cycle from above.
It starts the word ornate,
And that’s what it looked like.
"O" is my head;
Its on a sharp spike.
"V" stands for velocity,
And you came and left so fast.
It looks like a valley,
That has trapped me in the past.
It starts the word virgin-
once the state of my heart.
"V" sounds like "we"
And that’s all I used to think of.
"E" stands for exciting-
And you were my very first.
Its the start of the eclipse,
That brought out the very worst.
It starts the word earnest,
And that’s what we once were.
"E" is the end,
And that’s all we'll remember.
This is ... beautiful. The poem contains a whole journey, like others have said before, yet these points in life/relationship stand out, have their autonomy, their strength. Very well done.
Very cleverly written piece. I enjoyed the words written taking me on a journey through a true and honest interpretation of that very complex four lettered word, love. Thanks Broken Wings for the read request.
I absolutely love this write, it will be stored in my library. So clever, I love the words you use and how creatively it all formulates. My eyes were glued to it from L to end. A sad yet beautiful way to describe a relationship.
