These Eyes Have Attuned To Fall

A short poem about an experience I had.

These eyes have attuned to fall

with my sad acceptance

of all that has been

I felt like breaking down

in the dining hall

where am I

and who am I

at the apex of my years harvest

gosh, I feel so strange

falling through the time-stream

I felt your mortality

and right now I’m feeling mine.
