Why did you get up today?

Because the sun did rise?

To harken to its holy beams

after the moon had died?

Why did you get up today?

Was it duty you oblige?

For something that you have to do?

A task you must comply?

Why did you get up today?

Just to be “alive”?

To walk around an empty shell

as countless weeks go by?
