Being Her Own DietyA Poem by PsycheThis is a piece about becoming self-reliant, and being my own person, and putting faith in myself.Glittering gold tears Filled to the brim with wine, And dancing Oh, the dancing!
It makes the change And turns the pains From this hear-stabbing wretch To just a heart-throbbing itch.
Sparkling silver tears Emptied the whole bottle And hating Oh, the hating!
Of yourself The world Your closet friend And closer still, Your own soul and spirit, Can’t live together in one Head.
So make the change And stake the pains On a billboard as a reminder Of who you were, are, and will become.
Blow the dandelion seeds Make the wishes at 11:11 All those silly little tricks That children play As they hope and pray That those few words they breathed to the Sun Will be heard by someone And made true
Make it a ritual To be done and begotten Forgotten somewhere down the road.
The ruby rose Crawls out of its hole Peaks its head above the soil And tastes the rays of light Now having faith, in no one But Herself. © 2016 Psyche |
