Said The Fly...

Said The Fly...

A Poem by AJNJ

Spin for me a web slyly…

From the lustrous silk

In your fulsome belly

A web so soft and slick

I bury myself sinfully

In thick, diaphanous depths

Forgetting, I am but prey

Confused, blinded deeply

By the toxins you spray

Upon my naked, tender skin

In the supple web you spin

Better than Machiavelli

Spin for me a web slyly…

Love the metaphor here. Beware poor fly of that spider. She spins to trap, to control and then to totally consume. Yes, I do believe there are a few women out there who would do that. There are also a lot of men who would fall for it. Great write AJ. Don't be one that gets entrapped.

I really love a man that's willing to dive into a prolific 70's bush . . . not shy about the vermin & toxins that may be musty-harbored therein. Yes, yes, yes. Your poem exudes sexuality and yet your actual descriptions are so far from the typical erotic fare, that's what makes it so startling, that this perfectly describes a muff dive as well as a buzzing bonk in the web. I feel very much outshined by all the fiesty youngsters who are jamming the Halloween essence into places I never thought about finding it, despite my years of reading & writing Halloween ditties. I'm going to have to step up my game becuz this is the most amazing Halloween year I've seen in 6 years at the cafe! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Flirting with danger
There are" flies" who can't think of a more pleasant way to go.
There are "spiders" who take such alluring form.
What a web they weave--most pleasant peril!

Those pesky web weavers, huh? I sure am familiar with them. Quite a few here, too! It's an unfortunate ill of being a poet; some use the skill for manipulative means, always preying and lulling the naive flies with silken words and trapping them in those very webs you write of. Always keep a heavy boot handy to squash the little buggers. An eloquent way to make a serious point, AJ. A great read, this.

Next time you feel like a fly, call me pronto! I love catching and cooking spiders especially the big female Tarantulas with huge, fat bellies. Lots of s**t in them. Jokes aside, this is a really visual poem AJ. Just the way I like them.

The spider as an eight legged symbol of machiavellianism.....such a wonderful idea here, AJNJ. Just as the spider weaves its web slyly, so too do many humans of the manipulative kind. They weave their web of words, draw in the unsuspecting prey and then pounce when the time is right. Its a far more common trait than most suspect and it's present in all facets of society. You have poetically conveyed this philosophy so well that even the reader can be lulled slyly with the gentle poesy of your words and description. It's a poem that works on many levels for me and makes it a wonderful read. Well written, AJNJ. 💛
