"Float unhinged in cyberspace".....now THAT is an apt description, Pestonjee! Though methinks the laws of gravity and ginormous size will conspire to have them crashing down to Earth.....much like their efforts. There is quite an eloquence to your poem and an underhanded sense of wit and delight. I sense more tears of delight than tears of sorrow. Some partings are sweet sorrow yet others are just damn good riddance. And so it is. May they drift aimless in cyberspace woofing and oinking in their failed disgrace! Victory is so sweet. Loved the poem, Pestonjee! Great work. Pop that champagne!

They're crocodile tears hahaha. Some people are seriously unhinged and expect fan followings the only thing that would actually follow them are the ones that oink! Thankfully, the public seems to have some sense. Thanks a ton again and again!
It's such a unique piece of work! I love how you used the hot air balloon to reflect the going away of somebody. Sometimes it's better to move on and stop holding onto something not worthwile. Great work btw:)
I love the air balloon idea! This poem feels like, 'ugh thank goodness, THEY'RE GONE.' And I truly love it for that! And your short, but somehow detailed descriptions add so much. And yet, I still get the vibe, the narrator isn't the happiest with this goodbye, like barleygirl said. It's an exhausting love you wish you didn't have to let go of, but end up having to, for your sake.

This is definitely the most original goodbye I've ever read in poetry! I'm catching a little ambivalence here. For the most part, narrator sounds unhappy about this goodbye, but this line: "you couldn't be gone too soon" is usually used to tell a person that he/she needs to leave right now. This makes me look at the "Blow off my love" lines with suspicion . . . maybe this narrator is blowing this other person off while putting on an act as if this is a heart-wrenching goodbye. I honestly do not know. But it's still very inventive & thought-provoking (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

the thing i like about this is it is written in such a sweet tone and yet is the farthest thing from a sweet sentiment this is one of the things i like to do with music is sing with a loving warm voice to something not all warm. The contrast makes for a more poignant expression and in this on your piece is precisely what you did and you did it so well mr Peston

You got my intention perfectly 🤗 Thanks a lot dear sir!
Amazing how things turn out, isn't it... and yet.. the sky can look strangely empty for a while; needs time and effort to fill it with balloons and stuff that erupt in the night. Thinking and hoping you feel better after all those words have left your mind, heart and.. you can relax, sigh and move on!

Sometimes when a person floats out of your life, it is for the best. Indeed, life is unfair all too often, but when it inspires such a poem, it is all worth it if you ask me. Good one! Lydi**
