Sinking ships, for sure, Monsieur P.......depressed beneath the waves, drowning in a talentless sea......"Sonder", it makes the Titanic seem like the Queen Mary 2! Just another useless endeavour that preaches to an audience of one. Surely there are much better ways to spend a lifetime than wasting valuable minutes indoctrinating oneself as an 'artist'. A real artist or writer lets their work speak for themselves and it should be good enough to survive the stormy seas on any medium. When it can't.......well, that tells you something. All i can say is that there are now a lot of shipwrecks at the bottom of the ocean! I enjoyed this write.

Loved your very eloquent review! Indeed, a life spent deluding oneself can be so sad. Stubbornness, I always maintain is the trait of mules and mules are no artists or thinkers. Moving on and not clutching to things beyond our grasp is the only way to go. Yet the daft keep on and on at it, unfairly to everyone else. Meanwhile, the hulk sinks deeper and deeper into the ocean bed.
Hence I prefer not to be a genius Sir, neither I was! I have shot some bullets in the darkness in my life and not each had hit the board but each time I felt recoils. For that I didn't keep standing there and a new morning did arrive. Sometimes I think there's so peace in living a life hand to mouth with self made backbone than spending the life as an over smart. You're welcome Jee :D

abstract certainly.. compelling assuredly.. and your final line, almost to die for... and for what its worth, I have known many take their delusions with them on that darkest of journeys...

In my usual clueless way, I'm not too sure what to make of your last two poems but I think a lifejacket could come in handy

I couldn't help humming Crosby, Stills and Nash's song "Wooden Ships" while I was reading this..."on the water very free and easy" i suppose genius does sail that way; we just have to try to catch up to it in our little rowboat."

"sink their delusions to graves" What a line!
our realities are often timid, but our illusions so brave they get "The red badge of courage."
and often win the war.
