By far the best, most extensive, tightly-wrapped extended metaphor I've ever read! This even surpasses the king of extended-metaphor, the cafe's very own Jacob (with a long hyphenated last name). You took "hair" as far as hair can go. You pulled in all the grime & vermin to show how radically hair can deteriorate from that light frothy bullshit we frolicked in, in our youth! This is hilarious, clever, & biting so close to most of our hairy asses (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Often I marvel at how closely our hairlines follow our life-and-love lines! Thanks a ton for such a great review! HUGS!
I like the way this flows, like my own locks they did once flow.. the time of hair peace and all that jazz... I still have all mine, although now very much a silver back, hair to stay, at least for a while :)

Thank you very much for your thoughts on this poem dear sir!
Did somebody say Hare today? My hair never grew back fully after it was all shaved off in the Air Force LOL consequently so did my first true love after the air force perhaps I should now call it the Hair Force now LOL I don't mind so much about the hair but I am quite sure I never loved like that again. What a very clever analogy Mr Peston this did give the Bunny a chuckle:)
I had many very close shaves but somehow I emerged

Love and hair, easy come easy go in some cases. I appreciated the humour in this piece and smiled when I remembered my own dear husband's thick black hair when we first met. Luscious, with a slight curl. The love lasted, alas the hair didn't. Beth our granddaughter who lives with us often teases him about being follicly challenged. He takes it very well. Says to her that his once thick hair just waved goodbye to him one day. Once in his fifties the greying started, then the thinning. It must be difficult for men, women don't experience the loss of hair in the same way although the loss of colour is inevitable. Your use of descriptive language in this piece is superb. A light hearted read, although maybe for some men who suffer, maybe some wishful thinking. Yes, maybe some returning to days of former glory.

I didn't sleep for days. Tried hordes of treatmenst and even quackery till it grew back :)

It was more difficult anticipating it happening than when it did. It grew back. I think hair loss is in the genes. When it happens as you grow older maybe it is a bit easier to accept. Hair isn't everything. My husband has so many good qualities and is so well loved, the hair loss to me is of no significance:)

Some good imagery in this one ("lice of indifference"). A somber comment on the vagaries of love. Would you settle for 10 shades?
