A very apt title, Monsieur P. It links extremely well with your attributed quotation by Khalil Gibran. Sometimes there is a fine line between saying the right words or leaving them unsaid. It's a dangerous predicament; the right words can make everything smooth and the wrong words can increase the distance between two people, so which do we choose? Throw caution to the wind and speak our mind or hold our tongue? For as your reference outlines, if we say nothing at all, and never clear the air, much of what existed is lost. I guess it all depends on the situation, summing it all up and choosing the right words at the right time, or for many men like yourself, shutting up completely at the right time! You have painted some lovely imagery to accompany your words and the inspiring quotation and it all comes together very well to illuminate some serious thoughts in one's mind. So kudos for this one, and for taking a snippet of wisdom and spinning it so poetically well. An excellent write from your thinking pen, monsieur P! Much enjoyed, as always.

The imagery in this poem is quite run-of-the-mill but I couldn't think up anything else to support this quote. Thanks anyway. I think the unspoken reason behind such voids is an element of ego in such situations. Budding relationships often succumb to it. Whatever the cost, love is sadly lost.
Appreciate your thoughts and words very much. Pen on and keep your poetic flag flying high :)
I have read this poem again AJ. So beautifully penned and with such wisdom. I have just reread my last response and want to add a little more on this second reading. It is not just the words said in anger that stick like knives in the gut, it is also the ones that aren't said. They are even more revealing. Have a great day my friend.

Truly a lovely poem, this was clearly inspired by The Muse erato herself. It feels to me like a poem about words that won't come, a write about writer's block, brilliant. You invoke the capricious weather as a lovey metaphor for creating poetry and communicating with The Muse. Sometimes in the desert it will rain but the water won't hit the ground, evaporating in mid-air. Sometimes the Muse will offer me a token and it turns to dust in my hand. You touched me and captured a moment, good job.

Indeed an apt title, your words that were meant to rain before may have been blown away by the wind, but the ones in this write are always etched by your thoughtful pen in all their elegance. Words left unsaid or failed to be expressed in this social world can cause big issues such as embarrassments and frustrating misunderstandings. They may remain as a wistful memory for the rest of a life. As you said, a world of love can be lost. I have an unpredictable, not regular stammering issue that has caused me a great deal of dismay disappointment in multiple oratory cases including an interview. It's like the wind blows out your eloquent capability.. It is important to not get caught up in the disappointment of this and look afresh. Awesome read sir.
Regards.

I relate to the stammering issue that you mentioned that sometimes gets the better of us in trying situations. It's always been a grief to me that the right words never come to me at the right time. With you too, I feel its more a case of nervousness on the spot, as it is with me. Because, my friend, you certainly don't lack for words on the page and definitely one of the most eloquent writers here! Believe me, it gets better with time.
Thanks a ton for appreciating this piece. Its appreciation such as yours that keeps me going on scribbling.
Have a great weekend man :)

And the recompense in the scrawls is beautiful! Thanks a ton, dear sir! I hope all is well 🤗
This is exquisite writing, period. It's purely magical the way you paint imagery in words that feels like it's dripping down the page in shades of varying emotions. I love how this is one on-going statement with no beginning, middle, or end . . . just a flowing of sensory perceptions expressed in imagery like clouds might be shifting across the sky. The way your words flow adds as much to the poem as what they mean. Great work! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

At times... silence speaks like a morning rain...
nourishing earthy pleasures where flowers bloom.
Eyes sing quietly as feelings touch notes of desire...
and once there is music... there is a symphony of love.
