Apathy

It's hard to be me sometimes.

I don't mean to come off

The way I do

I mean, do you know how hard it is

To be unintentionally rude?

I try to make peace within myself

And with others, as a matter of fact

But when someone interrupts that peace

I can't help but snap

It's hard enough as it is

To be so withdrawn and shy

But, no, it's my fault for not speaking

Don't you thinking I try?

If there was a way to tell them that

So they wouldn't run away from me

You'd better believe I'd change myself

A complete 360

Of course, this behavior was learned

Maybe the only thing I got from my mother

But I can't let that control my life

Or the way I treat others

Though I consider myself somewhere between introverted and extroverted, I'm a bit more withdrawn and it definitely shows.
